Show Goff, Stagg Receive College Scholarships Park High graduating seniors, Calvin B. Goff and Lisa Stagg have received scholarships to the University of Utah. Calvin Goff qualified for honors at entrance aid and Lisa Stagg received a leadership scholarship. All students who have qualified as semi-finalists in the National Merit Scholarship competition will be offered Honors at Entrance scholarships upon admission ad-mission to the University. The award is also given to students who have a 3.7 g.p.a. and a minimum ACT score of 27. Other recipients are nominated by their high school principal or junior college based on high academic potential. Only Utah residents are eligible for Honors at Entrance. The scholarship may be continued after the freshman year if a student completes 39 graded credit hours and maintains a 3.8 g.p.a. Other awards for the 1978-79 academic year include: -35 Leadership Scholarships to students who demonstrated capabilities cap-abilities as student leaders in Utah high schools and junior colleges. The scholarship provides pro-vides one year of tuition. -5 Presidential Scholars Scholarships Scho-larships valued at 5,000 for four years. -64 Special Departmental Scholarships Sch-olarships to freshmen and transfer trans-fer students who have exceptional qualifications in a special area of study. These . departmental awards cover full tuition and are given under varying titles on the basis of special departmental scholarship proposals. At least 82 percent of the more than 2,800 students already admitted to the University of Utah for autumn quarter are accepted from Utah high schools and junior colleges. |
