Show Park City Golf Course Now Open, Links in Good Shape The Park City Golf Course is open. It opened unceremoniously last Wednesday before the ski hill had even closed and is now enjoying moderate play considering consider-ing the recent wet weather. Well known Utah golfer Ralph Emery is returning as the course's professional this year and reports the links are in excellent shape. The over fertilization fertili-zation problem which afflicted some of the greens last year has been corrected and the greens are now in perfect shape. "A little herd and fast but that's to be expected for this early in the season" he said. .Assisting Ralph this year will be Molly Laramie and Bud Tonnesen two experienced and well known Park City golfers. New this year will be a Park City Men's Golf Association under the direction of Bud Tonnese. The men's Association will host weekly tournaments every Wednesday with prizes awarded after each round. Later in the season there will be a club championship where Park City's best men golfer will be selected. Membership in the Association includes a free Utah Golf Association (UGA) handicap card and a 15 discount at the pro shop. Of course the Ladies Golf . Association will be active this year. There will be' an organizational organiza-tional meeting May 9 at the Club House at 10:30 a.m. There will also be a free clinic for the ladies May 16. Ladies play every Tuesday from 7 to 10 a.m. for a fee of $1.50 for nine holes and $3.00 for eighteen. Regular rates this year for play before June 1 and after September Septem-ber 15 are $3.50 for nine holes and $6.00 for eighteen on Saturday, Sundav and Holidavs and $3.00 for nine and $5.00 for eighteen on weekdays. After June 1 and until September 15, the rates will be $5.00 for nine and $7.50 for eighteen on weekends and holidays and $3.50 for nine and $6.00 for eighteen on weekdays. This year you can purchase a Weekday pass for $95.00 which is good weekdays only before 11 a.m. and after 3 p.m. An unlimited golf pass is $350.00 this year. A $15.00 golfer registration card is also offered which entitles card holders to $1.50 off the regular 18 hole price on weekdays and after 2 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. If the card is purchased in April or May the first round of golf is free. |
