Show Crowley, Huggard Complete Police Management Course Sargeant Mike Crowley and Officer Alex Huggard returned this week after completing a two week course in selective enforcement and traffic management. 40 officers from around the State attended the course held in St. George which was offered through Northwestern University. Park City's Mike Crowley was honored as class valedictorian after completing the course which required 10 hours a day plus 2 to 3 hours of study time at night. According to Crowley the course stressed the utilization of modern management techniques and their practical applications to police work with the emphasis on problem solving. "Through the use of data, problems can be pin pointed and solved with a good degree of accuracy rather than just hitting and missing" said Crowley. The technique can also be used in the everyday management of a police department resulting in greatly increased efficiency. |
