Sister Frances Clare, sister superior of St. Mary's academy, will leave this week for South Uend, Ind., where she will become be-come president of the St. Joseph's college, one of the chief educational Institutions at the mother homo of the Slaters of the Holy Cross. Sister Frances Clare has been at the head of St. Mary's for six years. During , her stay In Salt Lake she has become be-come beloved by all who knew her, pud that total Is exceedingly large. She haa proved herself a highly capable cap-able director of Instruction, and by her sweet personality won for herself her-self Ihe affections of pupils and parents par-ents alike, "While the departure of Sister Frances Fran-ces Clare will W keenly regretted' In Salt Lake, the transfer Is regarded here as the conferring upon Sister Clare of a distinguished honor. Sister Frances Clare will be succeeded suc-ceeded as sister superior at St. Mary's academy by Sister Mary Alexis. Sister Sis-ter Mary Alexis was stationed In Salt Lake for a period of fifteen yean. She left here alxjut twelve fyears ago. She will be remembered by many who attended St Mary's In their school days. Another departure that will be keenly regretted is the transfer of Sister Alacon.ue to Fresno, Cal. Sister Sis-ter Alacorjuc has been Instructor In vocal music at St. Mary's for something some-thing like thirty years, and many of the best musicians in the city were her pupils. |
