Peery brothers havo plana for tho erection of a fine cafe on the corner of Hudson avenue and Twenty-fifth street, the building Is to bo two stories high, and tho ground frontage of the buildlug to be of solid glaBS. The upper floor will be used for office rooms, they to be made modern In every particular. The floor epaco Is only 11 feet wide, j but an entrance to tho upper floor will lead through a stairway from Iludaon avenue and the office rooms will project over the avenue In the form of balconies. This will be a new Idea In architectural designing In Ogden and It Is looked upon as a space saving proposition of considerable consider-able merit la close quarters. PROGRESS ON THE NEW HOTEL i i The cement work on tho Marlon hotel ho-tel at the corner of Twenty-fifth street and Lincoln avenue, Is being prosecuted with considerable haste, notwithstanding the fact that the concrete con-crete men have to work in water. Tho water in the bottom of the excavation excava-tion for the basement of tho large buildi.jg is from three to 6lx inches deep in places where pillars have to be placed. The positions for the pillars pil-lars have to be fixed In the ground, a few Inches below the bottom of the pit and In making these excavations water Is encountered lu almost every Instance. Work on Extension. The Salt Lake and Ogden Railway company Is keeping at work a force of bhovelers on their new road bed between Twenty-fourth and Twenty-fifth Twenty-fifth streets on Lincoln avenue and It is anticipated that within a week the cemont basement of the roadbed will bo completed as far north as Twenty-fourth street. It will require only a few days after that to lay the tics and the rails. Buildings Being Razed.
