"Editor .The Standard I sec in Tho ' Standard of the I7th Instant, that a young man reported to Sanitary In- J spector PouHer of Ogden (hat there Is ' twenty cases of scarlet fever In Plain City not under' quarantine, and also In the Standard of the ISth Mr. Poulfer complains thaU-Plaln City Is : not complying with tho quarantine laws; as a result six new cases bavo ' developed In Ogden during the last j twenty-four hours and three of theni j have com? from Plain City, i "Now, in justice to the public, I ' wish to state tho facts as they exist . and did exist. As far as ecarlet fever fe-ver Is concerned on April 17, J)r. G. W. Baker reported to me that searlet fever was In the homes of Jo Singleton. Single-ton. W. Arthur Skeen and Fred Wbeeler. I quarantined these places that nlgbt At the expiration of the proper time no further symptoms of the disease was to be found nt the houses. I fumigated them according to tho law and raised the quarantine. From that time to the present I have mado several tours of investigation ! in and around Plain City. I found several Utile children slckJrom dif- i ferent causes, but no dl9tlnct cases of scarlet fever. So today when the county physician and two health o Hirers Hi-rers from Ogden came out to see about the twenty cases that had been reported and after a visit to all the hoiisea. w-c found two cases( one nt the home of Joe Singleton and the other at the home of Joc'H'jtchlns. "I think the Investigations tho county physician and the health officers offi-cers should he sufllclenl to put a stop to the false rumors which have been started of late.
