Show SAID OGDEN WAS CHILLY. The Garland Globe, in reporting the reception given the Salt Lake Commercial Club in that town, 6ays : Secretary and Booster of the Club Joseph E. Caine delivered de-livered a fitting address and handed a lemon to Ogden, accompanied ac-companied by an appropriation of 30 cents for an ice factory. fac-tory. Evidently the Salt Lakers did not meet with the warmth of welcome wel-come they had expected in Ogden; and, evidently they reciprocated in kind when they departed from this city, as they described Ogden as the polar region and the businessmen as icebergs. Strange that people of one stato cannot dwell in peace and harmony har-mony and that rival cities will sulk and even quarrel. But Salt Lake is our big brother and should set a better example than to pout when her littlo sister refuses to divide a gum drop. The larger children chil-dren always are expected to give way to the smaller ones. We are surprised that Salt Lake is ruffled over any unintentional slight. |
