Show NAME OFFICIALS FOR THE OGDEN RACE MEET At a meeting of the Wasatch Jockey Jock-ey club in Salt Lnke, Saturday r-ven-inr. the officers to conduct the racing on the Ogden track this spring, be-l be-l ginning May 25th and continuing un-j un-j til June 4lh, were selected and other arrangements for the meeting were agreed upon The report from the executive officers of the club in to tho I effect that the ten-day meeting at I Ogden will be fhst-elnsa in every par-! par-! ticular. Names of the officials who will serve, with the exception of the pre siding judge, who will be named later, were announced. Following are the officials appointed mst night: F. A. Lamer, associate Judge; Earl G Mc Quaide, seeretaiy and clerk of scales; James Weber, starter ; W. D. Rishel, timer and paddock judge. Six races will he given dally, with purees aggregating ?000. Frequent handicaps carrying with them valuable purses, will be offered. ' The betting ring will be open to all reputable bookmokers aud syndicate looking will poslthely not be allowed. al-lowed. Tho obnoxious custom of allowing al-lowing poo! boys In the grand stand will not be tolerated and patrons will thus be free from all such annoyance. There are more than fifty horses already al-ready quartered at the track and 100 more will be shipped from Salt Lake. These, with about 20 that will bo shipped from Oaklaud. wHl assure the public that there will bo no scaicity of good racing material. It was also announced that bids for privileges will close May 13th and may b? mailed to Secretary McCuaide at the European hotel In this city. Said bids must be accompanied by a certified cer-tified check fcr 10 per cent of the amount of the bid. Hlds for the program pro-gram privileges will close May llth. |
