Show TESTING THE GRAZING LAWS , -. , i r District Law Officer W. C. Henderson Hender-son has returned from a brief business busi-ness trip to Reno, Nevada, where ho has had legal matters to attend to. Mr. Henderson states that while at Welser. Idaho, a short time ago, he had occasion to assist in the bringing of criminal action against some of the sheepmen there for grazing their herds on the national forest without first having secured a permit from the forest supervisor. The parties were bouid over to await the action of the federal court next September. Their bonds were placed at $300. This Is the first prosecution, says Mr Henderson, Hen-derson, that has been taken up by the forest department slnco the ruling of the Bupreme court of the United States that stockmen violating the rules of the grazing department could not be pnnlshed for a crime. |
