Local architects say that where the sleeping porch was practically unheard of several years ago it Is now a recognized feature in house designing and Is fast gaining In popularity. At the present time the sleeping porch is confined to homes and apartment apart-ment houses, though it is said by architects that In the near future It Is not unllkeb that hotels will Incorporate Incor-porate this feature into their construction con-struction According to a well known local architect, ar-chitect, the sleeping porch Idea first originated at the time that physicians announced their open-air cure for consumption. Tubercular patients sought the roofs of houses, the old-fashioned old-fashioned veranda and the depths of the woods In which to place their beds. Following tho announcement by the physicians that pure air st night, with plonty of sunshine In the day. were the only cure for tuberculosis, tuberculo-sis, they came out with the further statement that sleeping In the open air was ine best means for preventing the dread disease. Architects In Line. The architects of the country took up the Idea and soon the sleoping porch was the result.
