Show City a Mass of Flags in Honor of the President Passaic, N. J., May 9. Nothing has been left undone to make the visit of Pesldent Taft here tonight, to attend the annual dinner of the Passaic Board of Trade, a memorable affair. The entire route to be traversed by the President Is a mass of flags, bunting, incandescent lamps, urns of flowers and other decorations, with Main street, the principal thoroughfare, thorough-fare, especially noteworthy having been transformed Into a court of honor for the reception of the presidential presi-dential party. The president Is expected to arrive about 6 o'clock. The guests at tho dinner, besides the President, Include Governor John Franklin Fort, General Gener-al Leonard A. Wood. Charles Nagel, secretary of commerce and labor; Frank H Hitchcock, postmaster general; gen-eral; former Governors John W. Griggs and Franklin Murphy. The fifth regiment of the New Jersey Jer-sey National Guard has been ordered to do guard duty here during the visit of the president. The Taft party will return to Washington late tonight |
