Show AGREEMENT REGARDING LOAN HAS BEEN FORMALLY SIGNED. Pekin, June C An agreement in regard re-gard to the German-British French loan of $27,500,000 for the construction construc-tion of Canton-Hankow and Hankow-Sze Hankow-Sze Chuen railways, has been signed. It was this loan which the Chinese government recently awarded to the German financiers but to participation in which the British and French financiers finan-ciers later were admitted. British reprcsetatlves refused to withdraw the name of British China corporation as purchasing agents of British railway material, which China demanded, but compromised on the I phraseology of the agreement, allowing allow-ing the purchasing agents to be named hereafter. The loan Is to be Issued at 95 and will bear interest at 5 per cent. It is re-payable in twenty-five years but may be redeemed from the tenth to the seventeenth year at 2 1-2 per cent premium. |
