Show EXCITING CAME OF BASKETBALL An exciting game of basket ball was played at the gymnasium of the Deaf and blind school last evening, the contesting con-testing teams being the Granite high school of Salt Lake and the state deaf school team. The result was rather ; disappointing to the Ogden fans, inas- I much as they confidently expected the deaf lads to win, but they did not. At the conclusion of tho game'the score ' stood 15 to 40 in favor of the Granite team. The game was fast and furious ; to the end. i It was a close game, however, and It is expressed by those who witnessed It that had the deaf lads been favored with an impartial referee, the score would have been different. It was stated by one of the deaf school en- j thusiasts' last evening that the referee, Hammond, of Salt Lake, was "blind In one eye and could no sec well out of tho other when considering eirors on the part of the Granite team, but was wide awake when the blind boys did Bomethlngwrong." During the intermission between the two halves of the game the largo attendance at-tendance of students and -visitors were happily entertained bj, the drill of the little tots of the blind" school, conduct- j ed by Physical Director Mrs. Bell S. i Ross. The evening's recreation was concluded in a dancing party, which was much enjoyed. |
