Show THAWED OUT DYNAMITE BY f IRE Explosion Kills Foreman and Fatally Injures Gov eminent Employe. Missoula, Mont, Feb. 5. General Foreman James Donaldson was killed and a laborer named W. M. Elssncr, fatally Injured by an explosion of dynamite dy-namite at the lower Yellowstone Irrigation Irri-gation works, this morning. The accident ac-cident occurred at the rock quarry, 'about a mile from the camp, where the - government employes arc constructing con-structing the big division dam of the project. A fire had been started to thaw out fifteen sticks of dynamite when one of the men called Foreman Donaldson's attention to the fact that some of the dynamite was burning. The latter ran to the spot to save as much of the dynamite as he could and was bending over It when an explosion ex-plosion occurred. Elssner waa running run-ning to help Donaldson and was only a few feet away. Donaldson was unmarried and has a brother living at Edgewool, Ills. |
