The members of the Utah State legislature leg-islature arrived from the capital city . at S:30 this morning on a special train of seven cars, en route to Logan for an inepectlon of the State Agricultural Agricul-tural College. The dignified beehive bee-hive statesmen were In rare good humor hu-mor and met a cordial reception at the Union Depot by numerous Ogdea friends. On the rear end of tho train was th private cur of General Superintendent J. M. Davis, and this was occupied by a large number of ladies who we"? accompanying ac-companying the solons on their Junketing Junket-ing trip north. At Ogden a dining car was attached to the statesmen's train, and the interior in-terior of the diner was elaborately decorated with flowers of every description de-scription and was provided with an abundant supply of edibles and liquid stimulants that indicated an absence of anything like a strong and uncontrollable uncon-trollable prohibition sentiment among the touring legislators. Several prominent railroad officials accompanied the train north. It is expected the special will return re-turn from Logan this evening with everything in good shape except perhaps per-haps the dining car supplies. Tho train was In charge of Conductor Con-ductor Ed Hawley, who was detached from the regular passenger service, in order to insure the safety of the touring tour-ing statesmen on their Inspection trip. |
