Show ILL IT BE I RESTORED TO DUTY Findings Against Captain of Yery Crave Nature Sent Department. Gibraltar, Feb. 5. The findings of the court martial that heard the evidence evi-dence Against captain Edward F. Qual-trough. Qual-trough. of the battleship Georgia, on a charge of intoxication at Tangier during a reception, were approved by Rear Admiral Sporry at 7 o'clock this evening and forwarded to Washington. The findings vre not mado publlo here, but It la stated with certainty that Captain Qualtrough was not acquitted. ac-quitted. It is believed on the contrary that the findings are of so grave a nature na-ture that he will not be restored to duty. The rumor Is abroad In tho fleet tonight that should the findings be approved by the navy department, the captain will be disgraced and possibly pos-sibly dismissed from service. It was learned tonight that Lieutenant Commander Com-mander Kline will be In command of he Georgia on tho voyage home from this port. Much sympathy is expressed for Captain Qualtrough. |
