Show FRANCHISE GRANTED BY . C01I1 Y TO ROCKY MOUNTAIN BELL TELEPHONE TEL-EPHONE COMPANY Road Supervisors Elected at Yesterday's Yester-day's Meeting of County Commissioners. Com-missioners. The board of county commissioners commission-ers at the regular weekly meeting jesterday voted a franchise to the Rocky Mountain Bell Telephone company com-pany to construct, maintain and operate op-erate a telephone line over tho county roads and highways for a period of 2n years. The consideration upon which the franchise was granted was that the. county under the administration administra-tion of its commissioners shall be entitled en-titled to the free use of telephones not to exceed ten in number, to be operated within .the county. The terms of the franchise precludes free service to the county over "long distance" dis-tance" lines. The petition of Margaret Wadraan, an indigent, asking for $13.10 to help her redeem certain property belonging belong-ing to her and which had been sold for taxes was granted, and a warrant for the amount was ordered drawn in her favor. Oliver A. Panrod was appointed Justice Jus-tice of the Peace for Liberty. It appeared ap-peared that there was a vacancy in that office at Liberty by virtue of the fret that the tax payers and voters of that precinct failed at the election in November to .elect such officer. Road supervisors were elected as follows: fol-lows: Robert Stlmpson, Bnrch Creek dis-tiicl. dis-tiicl. William Bybee, Uintah district A. D. Fowers, Hooper district. H. F. Petterson, Garland district. Ceorge Welsh, Tavlor district. Richard Grcenwell, West Weber district. dis-trict. An application for the appointment of Charles' E. Orton as road supervisor supervis-or for the Parr West district was taken under advisement. The petition of Constable Alonzo Rogers of Ogden for the appointment of A. G. Harris as deputy constable was- granted, and the appointment was made. F. B. Devoto, an abstractor, wa3 required re-quired by the commissioners to file a new bond in the sum of ten thousand thous-and dollars because of the fact that tome of his bondsmen on his present bund are disqualified. Minor claims in the sum of $66.13 ! against the county were allowed and ordered payed. "The board adjourned to meet again next Thursday.. |
