Show FAMINE RELIEF IN CHINA PROGRESSES PEKING Feb. 17. Famine relief work in western Chlhll has proceeded proceed-ed so well that each local branch rarely has to serve a greater radius than fifteen miles, the Rev. J D Hayes, traveling secretary of the Peking Pek-ing United International Famine Relief Re-lief committee, reports. Distribution of supplies has been well organized and there Is a commendable com-mendable spirit of cooperation shown bv the Chinese. The local plan, he reports, of having hav-ing the famln- sufferers come to tho stations in groups for their supplies, furnishing their own carts, is working work-ing out satisfactorily. The report emphasized the. need of a larger corps of workers, especially f business men capable of directing 'ulrs on a large scale. |
