Show j uu I Thomas W. Lawson aed ' Other Brokers Fined BOSTON, April 21. Thomas W. Lawson, and L. C. Van Riper, were fined $1,000 each in municipal court today for violation of the state law concerning the advertisements of -mining stocks. Lawson and Van Riper, Ugcther with several curb brokers, were arrested recently in tlx campaign cam-paign of Attorney General J. .eston Allen against illegal advertising of stocks. Lawson pleaded guilty to the complaint, com-plaint, which contained thirteen counts. He was fined $100 on each of ten counts and three Avere placed on U'e. tfhe' complaint against Van Riper contained ten counts, to which he pleaded guilty and he was fined' 100 on each count. William R. ntzgerald was fined $400 and George L. Ware 100 on similar charges. Several others who have pleaded guilty previously have been fined ?100 each. Everett C. Tarr, and Daniel E Samuel withdrew appeals and paid fines of $400 each previously jimposed. |
