The executive execu-tive committee of the United Brotherhood Brother-hood of Maintenance of Way Employes and Railway Shop laborers issued a statement nt International headquarters headquar-ters here tonight that It was Investigating Investi-gating charges filed by members of the organization of allcgedir.regulu.r-ity allcgedir.regulu.r-ity In the handling of the umon's funds by Allen A. Barker, former international interna-tional grand president. The specific charges, according to tho-. committee's statement, are "that, tho' books show that over half a miliion dollars wero spent during Barker's presidency, and that there were no entries to show the brotherhood had received anything In return." If misuse of tho funds was shown by tho Investigation, the committee announcement said, "proper stops for the recovery thereof would bo taken." Mr. Baker relinquished tho presidency presi-dency in March. |
