Complete arrangements are being made by the Ttah Agricultural college to accommodate the 145th field artillery artil-lery if the war department decides to ask the institution to care for Utah's regiment during demobilization, ac- cording to an announcement just made ! by President E. O. Peterson. The col - j lege is able to care for 1000 men with its present equipment and additional space and equipment can be easily provided. School will not reopen before be-fore January 14, which will afford ample time to get demobilization proceedings pro-ceedings well under way before the arrival of students. In order that everything mav be ready, upon short notice, to accommodate accom-modate tho 1700 men in the 145th, President Peterson has appointed several sev-eral committees to make any necessary neces-sary arrangements. A committee on feeding with Dr. F. S. Harris as chairman, chair-man, has been appointed to provide adequate mess facilities. Professor Ray B. West has been appointed chairman chair-man of a committtee on housing, Professor Pro-fessor P. E. Peterson, chairman of a committee on officers' housing and mess, and Professor George R. Hill of a committee on entertainment. If the 145th is demobilized at Logan, it is tho intention of both the city and the college to provide prodigally for the amusement both of tho officers and the men. Receptions, entertainment and shows will bo arranged for their, benefit. |
