Show II FILIPINOS ARRIVE i IN OGDEN FROM ( THE WAS Three little Philippines called at the canteen this morning and grlnningly announced, In their broken speech, that they were discharged and were going home. H They had been to France tivlce, for they wore sailors and now they would be back to the land of many islands sometime in February. Upon entering enter-ing the canteen, they cordially went the rounds and shook hands with everyone ev-eryone there, making it as painly as thoy possibly could that "ihey wanted to stay in Amerlca-aa but the .government .govern-ment say we moos go home." All also boastfully related how they had joined the Red Cross in Chicago "for one dollar's worth and that was good." I These little dark skinned men are as proud of their country, the United States, as any native here, and no man could be prouder of their service to the land, than they were this morning, strutting around like Lilliputians in uniform, grinning gleefully and shak- ing hands with everyone whether they knew him or not. |
