Show PRESIDENT HOT BACK FROM COAST i SALT LAKE, Dec. 23. Declaring he never felt so well in his life, President Presi-dent Jleber J. Grant of the Mormon church returned yesterday from Santa Monica, Cal , where he has spent thei greater part of the past month, seeking seek-ing rest and recreation. "My entire vacation was spent just as an ideal vacation would be," Pros' ident Grant said. He added that he had just played, slept and rested generally. gen-erally. "I loft homo nearly a month ! ago because I was tired and needed j relaxation. Mrs. Grant was with me and we occupied the church house 'Deseret,' at Santa Monica. I have not done so much playing, or had such an enjoyable vacation since I was sixteen years of age," President Grant laughingly averred. President Grant's general appear-, ance bears out the statements that he has rested and 'recuperated since he loft Salt Lake in November He admits ad-mits having attended church but once since he went to the coast, that being be-ing about a fortnight ago, when he and David O. McKay of Ogden went into Los Angeles for services in ai new Mormon church edifice in that city, the health ban being lifted then. Auto riding, golfing, resting at home with books to read and friends to visit him, and long hours of sleep, formed ( the program of nearly every day spent at Santa Monica. "No, there was no business of any sort; I did not go west to carry with me the responsibilities of business, but to shun them. 1 am' back now and ready for the work," the head of the Mormon church declared. Near the L. D. S. church house at Santa Monica are the Drentwood club j golf links, where the late President Joseph F. Smith used to find recrea- I tion. When President Grant reached Santa Monica the club presented him I with honorary membership and during 1 the entire stay be spent a part of each1 week day on the links with Colonel! Nephl Clayton of Salt Lake as hls! instructor in teeing and putting, and : later his opponent in regulation games.
