Show SMTII GLAUS PUS TO MIKE CHILDREN HAPPY ' Santa Claus, a friend of tho young and old. of many years, is busily preparing pre-paring to answer the calls made upon him by letter from eighty-six boys and girls of the city and county. All the letters which have been received at tho postoffice addressed to "St Nick, at the North Pole," have fallen into the right hands. Santa and his local representatives rep-resentatives aro preparing to fulfill the wishes of the little ones as near as possible. i Out of the eighty or more requests for candy, nuts and "ther things," it has been found that some of them have come from homes of the well-to-do or from families whore arrangements for the visit of Santa Claus tomorrow night have already been made. These letters have been duly referred to where they will receive prompt attention. atten-tion. On a visit to tho headquarters maintained main-tained each year by the agent of Santa, the following articles were noted today: to-day: 120 pounds of candy, 50 pounds of nuts. 3 dozen pairs of stockings, G suits of underwear, knives, dolls, story books and toys galore for about sixty little folks.
