Show CHEER FOB THE BOYS as w m AT WEE! I "Dressed up like a Christmas tree" certainly applied to the local canteen at tho station this morning. The holiday holi-day aspect greeted one at every turn,, and in one of tho Cozy corners stood a gorgeous Christmas tree, bedecked with ginger bread men, candy chains,1 glittering ornaments and great strings of popcorn and cranberriese. No soldier who stops at tho canteen can-teen this week is going to be permitted to forget that this is the Chrlsmats : time. And to make it still more emphatic, j each and every one is to receive a wonderful box, all full of goodness I knows what and wrapped in the! '.snowiest white tissue paper with a i sprig of holly on top to make it look' all the more like holiday time. J Today, when the casualty train goes' through with two cars of wounded ) boys from over thorc, each one will be remembered with one of these boxes. For who really deserves more cheer and thought at this time, than those, who have made such a clay possible? pos-sible? Workers at the canteen have given every thought in making the canteen as cheerful and home-like as possible, for the unfortunate lads who will not be able to spend the Christmas day with their family. Until le,te last night they gathered together at the caateen and busily worked, decorating the room and the tree, so that the smiles would be brought to the faces of the boys when they entered today. oo |
