This feature signalizes the first appearance o William Parke and Mrs. Castle's director and the excellence ex-cellence of the picture furnishes ample proof of his' intelligent and artistic workmanship. Theater patrons will rccelvo a surprise sur-prise when they see the role which Mrs. Castle has at the beginning of the story. Associated with Mrs. Castle in the cast are a number of players of sterling sterl-ing merit, some of whom have been starred in Pathe productions in the past Prominent among them is Warner War-ner Oland, fresh from his triumphs in "The Fatil Tting." Mr. Oland within the last year or so has played many parts in Pathe pictures and played them all well. His "villians" are of a now type. Ho plays -with repression and dignity. He leaves the "gangster" type of acting to others. By the use of his heavy-lidded eyes and a remarkably remark-ably mobile face he gets over his message mes-sage with telling effect. He is always the polished, subf6 and intellectual villain. Helen Chadwick Is another member of the cast who has been seen frequently in Pathe pictures during the -past year. She is young her first ap-pearanco ap-pearanco as a player was in a Pathe picture only a year ago, but sho has learned fast and is coming to the top. W. Ill Gilmour, who has had prominent parts in many of the Gladys Hulette pictures, and whoso "old man" characterizations char-acterizations are always sympathetic and able, is another prominent member mem-ber of the cast. Harry Benham, who has played heroes for Thanhouser, Universal, Fox and World, plays opposite op-posite Irene Castle. Bert Starkey, the "spider" of "The Fatal Ring" fame, is still another member of the cast worthy wor-thy of more than passing notice. |
