Show H. JEFFERS OF THE 101 PACIFIC IS OPTIMISTIC "The American government, which means the American people, has struck its war stride and, like Lord Northcliffo says In his summary of America's fighting machinery, Uncle Sam's soldier boys will batter Germany Ger-many with a suddenness that will pulverize pul-verize Prussianism forever. The third Liberty bond issue of approximately ?'1,000.000.000 will be subscribed in rocord tlmo and all other tasks necessary neces-sary to win will bo proporly and efficiently effi-ciently performed." That was the red-blooded and patriotic pa-triotic statement of W. W. Jeffers, vice president and general manager of the great Union Pacific system, who arrived in Ogden on No. 9 at 6 o'clock last night Mr. Jeffers was here only an hour, leaving for the east on No. 10 at 7:15. He waa accompanied by his secretary and Charles Erwin, a livestock man of Cheyenne. The greater portion of his visit was con- sumed by a conference with J. H. Dodds, superintendent of the Ogden Union Railway & Depot company. |
