At th home of Mrs. D. S. Tracy, 241 Twenty-first Btreet Friday afternoon, after-noon, February 22 the, old folks' committee com-mittee of the Third ward gave a party for tho elderly peoplo of the ward. At 1 o'clock a dinner was served and tho tables were effectively decorated deco-rated for the occasion with red carnations carna-tions in vases while at each guest's plate wore tiny baskets of candy and an American flag as favors. Throughout Through-out the home Washington's birthday decorations prevailed. During the dinner toasts and speeches were given and following prizes were given to the oldest lady and gontleman present The party then onjoyed a program of musical selections se-lections and readings and a social good timo until evening. Mrs. Tracy and Mr. Gilbert Torge-Bon, Torge-Bon, of the Ward committee for the entertainment of the old folks, were complimented on the affair which proved exceedingly delightful. GIVEN A SURPRISE. As a tribute of their love and as a token of their appreciation of her ser-vicos ser-vicos as an official and member of the Fifth Ward Relief society, a party of nearly two score friends, surprised Mrs. Elanora WIntle at her pretty home, Washington and Twenty -first street, last night, and presented her with a big Boston fern. RETURNS HOME. Miss Frances Smythe has returned from a delightful visit to Huntington, Ore., where she spent a time with relatives. ENTERTAINS. The two young ladles spent last Friday In Salt Lake City with friends. SHOWER FOR BRIDE-TO-BE. Miss Rhea Farr, who will soon become be-come the bride of Raymond F. Wiggins, Wig-gins, was honor guest at a pretty shower show-er given by Miss Clara Johnston, 1954 Steele avenue, last Tuesday. Games and music wore enjoyed and a buffet luncheon was nicely served by ,lbe hostess. Miss Farr received many lovely gifts. ENGAGEMENT. Mr. I. F Farr announces the engagement en-gagement of his daughter, Miss Rhea, to . Raymond F. Wiggins. The wedding will occur in the near future. Women of American Patriots. ENJOYABLE CARD PARTY FRIDAY AFTERNOON. Mrs. W. J. Parker was hostess to twelve ladies yesterday afternoon at her home, 2351 Adams avenue, when she entertained at a card party. High five was the game and during the afternoon aft-ernoon the ladies enjoyed several games. Mrs. Horton received the honors. hon-ors. Thursday evening at tho Orpheum Edmund Wood entertained members of the Ogden high BChool basketball team at a box party. Thoso who enjoyed en-joyed the performance of the evening wero: Hilker Williams, Thomas Williams, Wil-liams, Harold Clark, Lee Richards, Hugh Johnson, Coach Barnes, Vincent Conrqy Maurice Conroy, Charles, Balch and Donald Gibson. Tho affair was given to celebrate the victory won Tuesday evening -when the Ogden high school defeated the Weber team. ROYAL NEIGHBORS. Last Monday evening the Royal Neighbors of America entertained their members and friends at a card party in the I. O. O. F. hall on Washington Wash-ington avenuo. The games were enjoyed en-joyed and honors were given to Mr. Jack Owen, J. C Olsen, Fred Mitchell, Mitch-ell, Mrs. Ella Mitchell, Mrs. Anna Turner Tur-ner and Mrs. J. H. Williams. WALTER STOCKER RETURNS. Mr. Walter Stocker has roturned from a three months' visit in California Califor-nia where he spent a time in San Francisco and Los Angeles. |
