Show Mrs. Amelia Flygare Is Selected President of Daughters of Pioneers Of Weber County ' When tho Daughters of Pioneers held their annual meeting in the Second Sec-ond Ward chapel last Thursday afternoon after-noon they elected as their president, Mrs. Amelia Flygaro who is ono of the most earnest of tho many members of this organization. Mrs. Flygare is well fitted for this position as was the past president, Mrs. Bertha M. Ec-clcs. Ec-clcs. For the past two years she has been vlco president of tho7 organization organiza-tion and an active worker in all branchos. Tho election of officers was tho main business conducted at tho mooting of Thursday and Mrs. Hay ward, state president was in attendance and acted as chairman of the election. Other prominent dolegatcs to tho meeting woro Mrs. Victoria McCuno, state secretary, sec-retary, Mrs. Ann Lynch, "stato board member of Salt Lako City and Mrs. Josephine West and Mrs. Mary Richards, Rich-ards, both past presidents of the Wob-. Wob-. er county chapter. Many interesting reports were given at tho gathering and a splendid musical musi-cal program was givon by the Misses Cloono Rich and Evelyn Nelson and Mrs. Molba Read Jones. Miss Rich played "Andantino" (Krlesler) and tho. violin obligato to tho songs, "The i Day Is Ended" (Bartlott) and "Happy Days" (Strelozkl), which were sung by Mrs. Jones. Miss Nelsen played tho piano accompaniments. Another pleasing pleas-ing and impressive feature was the reading of two poems by Aunt "Em" Wells; "True Friendship" and "The Pioneer Jubilee," by Norma Scars Evans. |
