ARMY WELL INSURED Largest Life Insurance Business Busi-ness in World Being Conducted Con-ducted by Uncle Sam. WASHINGTON. March 7. More than $12,000,000,000 worth of insurance has been written on the lives of American Am-erican soldiers, sailors and nurses by ' lhe war risk insurance bureau, Secretary Secre-tary McAdoo announced today. Up to the close of business March G, 1,392,324 applications, representing Insurance of $11,256,448,500 had already been received re-ceived at the bureau and late reporls from tho American forces in Franco together with insuraiico now in transit tran-sit from distant points indicate that the total written to date is well abovo twelve billion dollars, covering more than 1,500,000 persons in tho military or naval service. In February alono more than $5,000,000,000 worth was written. The average amount of insurance applied for is $8.S05. The maximum permitted is $10,000 and the minimum ?1000. Army Well Insured.
