Show GEO. SUTHERLAND IS GUEST OF 1IR AT LUICHH Ex-Senator George Sutherland was guest of honor at a dinner party given yesterday afternoon by Judge A. R. Heywood at Stimson's cafo in which tho political outlook was considered from several aspects. Included in the number of guests were George Sutherland Suther-land and James P. Casey of Salt Lake; W. H. Shearman, Thomas G. Burt, W. H. Wattis, R. E. Bristol, E. T. Hulan-iskl, Hulan-iskl, G. L. Becker, L. W. Shurtliff, Thomas H. Carr, J. U. Eldrcdge, Jr., and Dr. G. A. Dickson. An optimistic feeling of Republican success next fall was evident at the dinner, but tho party agreed on tho necessity of supporting tho president in the prosecution of the war. It was also agreed on tho other hand that administrative blunders aro subject to helpful criticism where practical remedies rem-edies can be suggested for making the war organization more effective. The sentiment of tho gathering was said to have crystallized on tho opinion opin-ion that Theodore Roosevelt is ono of tho greatest men in public lifo and a strong presidential possibility. |
