Show BOX ELDER NOTES BRIGHAM CITY, March . 7. Box Elder county has sent three more young men into tho service of Uncle Sam. John Leroy Couch of Collins-ton Collins-ton was Inducted into tho coast artillery artil-lery service and sent to Fort Collins, Colo., Tuesday. George Clarjc and Piatt Clark, young brothers of this city, volunteered. George joined the aviation service and was sent to Fort Riley, Kans., and Piatt enlisted in the coast nrtillery and left for the Presidio, San Francisco. The Betterment club of this city held a meeting recently at the home of Mrs. John Forsgren, called primarily to discuss the fly question and means of exterminating the pest during the coming summer and fall. The Betterment Better-ment club is composed of property owners residing north of Fourth North. The club was organized by citizens who were of the opinion that that part of the city was being neglected as far as public improvements are concerned, and the club immediately took steps to secure a number of much needed improvements, im-provements, among which was bettor street lighting, which they soon received, re-ceived, better bridges and culverts. The club decided at the meeting to call a public meeting and invite speakers from the Agricultural college to en-lighten.the en-lighten.the people here on the fly nuisance. nui-sance. Next Tuesday evening a patriotic meeting will be held in the Third ward chapel at which the Rev. Poter A. Simpkin and J. W. Paxman, dry farm export, will deliver addresses. A musical program will be rendered by local talent. |
