Show LIBERTY DAY IS TOMORROW. Tomorrow is a legal holiday, to be devoted to promoting the Liberty loan campaign. On April 18. President V il-son, il-son, by proclamation, declared Friday, April 26, to be Liberty day. and following follow-ing the president's lead. Acting Governor Gover-nor Harden Brnnion of Utah has called on the people of Utah to oh-I oh-I serve the day to the fullest degree, bringing to mind the following: "Hundreds of boys from this state are now on the battle line in Europe. The people of Utah have already generously gen-erously oversubscribed their quota of the third Liberty loan, but it is necessary nec-essary that still further subscriptions be made. We should not cease our campaign until there is at least one ihird Liberty loan bond in every home in Utah. A big oversubscription of this loan will be a great moral victory for freedom and a wide distribution of subscriptions will be an American triumph tri-umph The acting governor suggests a general gen-eral suspension of business beginning at 1 o'clock in the afternoon and that all state and municipal offices close for the day. The proclamation impresses im-presses upon the people of the state the necessity of giving even greater support to the Liberty loan campaign on Friday, following this with contin- 1 ued encouragement during the re- . mainder of the campaign. This war Is growing in seriousness, I and these special days which are set aside should be taken advantage of in driving home some of the great lessons which the people must learn as to their duty in sustaining the government. |
