The battle still is raging, however, and it is still too early to make claims. Tanks went into action on both sides for the first time in history. In the battle bat-tle about Villers-Bretonneux the German Ger-man tanks appeared at the beginning Of the engagement and by noon the; British tanks joined in the fray.
