Show MANY PROTESTS AGAINSTLYNCHINGS NEW YORK. April 25. Telegrams protesting against recent lynching in Louisiana and Tennessee were made public, here today by John R. Shillady, BOcretary of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Peo-ple, after having been sent to Governor Gover-nor Pleasant of Louisiana and to Governor Gov-ernor Rye ol Tennessee. Eleven negroes have been lynched in Louisiana since America entered the war, the messages cite, and five in Tennessee. Ihe telegrams urgo that lynchers be apprehended and that inquiries be inadi to determine whether sheriffs i . rciaed their full powers. |
