Show I MISSING PERIOD TO J FIXED War Risk Bureau Must Know When a Soldier Is Officially Of-ficially Dead. WASHINGTON, April 2:. The war risk bureau has asked the war de partmcnt 10 rule as to when a soldier who has been reported "missing in action" ac-tion" shall be officially recorded as dead. The request was made in con-neetioo con-neetioo with payment of insurance on the lives of the officer and thirty-nine nlisted men still unaccounted for among those who were aboard the Tuscaala, Under the lnw no payment can be made to the heirs until the death of the insured "has been otfi-1 otfi-1 tally recorded." Adjutant -General McCain will be called upon to fix some definite record which Will mark the end of official hope that a missing soldier may he found It is regarded as probable that ;he system adopted by Canada, under which a period of six months Is fixed, Will be followed.
