Bliss, signal supervisor of tho Salt Lake division of the Southern Pa-cific Pa-cific railroad, has enlisted In the army signal corps and departed today for Fort Leavenworth, Kas., to enter training. Mr. Blls3 has been with the railroad rail-road company, maintaining his headquarters head-quarters at Ogdcn, for tt number of years, and has many friends on the road. He is well known among the railroad men and thoy adopted a novel wny of showing their appreciation of his worth as an official and fellow employe Tho men in the signal department de-partment of the Salt Lake division who worked under Mr. Bliss jolnca to present him with a beautiful wrist watch. Sunday afternoon Mr. Blis3 was pleasantly surprised when superintendent superinten-dent T, F. Rowlands of the Salt Lako division called him Into his office, where were gathered the other employes em-ployes of the signal department, and made an address in which the appreciation appreci-ation rf his friends was touchingly expressed and following which ho was presented with tho watch Mr, Bliss was so touched by tho demonstration of friendship and brotherly feeling that he could scarcely find words to reply, but he expressed his pride In such friends and tho hope that the war will son be over so he can return to thorn. oo- |
