Arave has been posted as a slacker for some time, as he was absent when notified to appear and did not put in his appearance for examination. examina-tion. He was serving a sentence in a Kansas jail for having liquor in his possession in dry territory'- Arave was released from the jail a day or two ago and immediately came to Ogdcn to state his case to the board. After considering con-sidering the matter, Chairman William j Lowder informed him that he would be given the status of a regularly drafted man as ho was not .able to get back when summoned for examination and that he would accompany the expedition expedi-tion leaving on October !. Arave stated, that he went into Kansas Kan-sas with a half pint bottle of whiskey in his possession and, when he was arrested and found to have tho liquor on his person, he was sentenced to a 30-day jail term. Arave appeared willing will-ing to go and eager to be taken from the status of a slacker. |
