Show UTAiS COMPETE" OH THE COAST . Big Track Meet in Which Many Athletes Will Clash, to ,Be Held at Fresno. SAN FRANCISCO, Sopt. 27. Three Utah men will be pitted against the athletes of tho Pacific coast tomorrow in a big track meet at Fresno. Clint Larson of the Utah contingent will bo pitted against George Horlne, former champ In the high jump', which many clalln will be the feature event of the meeL Other Utahns who will compete m tho day's events are Ted Johnson, long distance champion of the intermoun-tain intermoun-tain country, who will go in the one and five-mile runs, and J. E. Prime of Salt Lake will enter the 100-yard dash and the broad jump. It is expected that Morton Kirksey of the coast contingent con-tingent will make a good showing in tho sprints. On account of the number of exceptional excep-tional athletes it is expected that several sev-eral coast records will be smashed in the day's cavorting. The entries consist con-sist of mon from tho Universities of California and of Southern California, the Los Angeles Athletic . club, the Olvmpic club of San Francisco, the United States navy arid some ot tho best high school athletes of the state. |
