Show SICK CAUSES WIFE TO LOSE' Iff! 11; DAMAGES ASKED A petition was filed in the district court yesterday afternoon by Alfred W. Shapely, asking his appointment as guardian ad litem of Lillie May Shapely, Shape-ly, who was committed to the state mental hospital at Provo, on September Septem-ber 22. His appointment was ordered by Judge Pratt. The husband states' that his wife became insane following a nervous breakdown which occurred after af-ter she fell into a trench on the night of September 5, 1917, while on her" way home. The trench had been opened for sewer pipe and was left exposed, the husband claims. The trench was In front of or near, 3440 Washington avenue. As a result of the accident, Shapely says that he will press a claim for damages dam-ages from the city as legal guardian of his wife. The trench was being constructed by the Heuser-Packard company of Salt Lake. |
