Show WOOLGROWERS ARE " IN WASHINGTON WASHINGTON. SepL 27. A delegation delega-tion of nine woolgrowers from Idaho, Utah, Montana and Wyoming reached here this morning to urge tho government gov-ernment to buy raw wool direct from tho woolgrowers and save the largo per cent of cost which they assert goos to tho wool commission houses, wjhlch handle practically all of tho wool product pro-duct of tho west. The delegation had a "conference with B. M. Baruch and Charlos Elsenman of tho national do- fense council, who advised that tho council has no authority to purchase wool for the government and that such authority could be obtained only through legislation or by direct order of tho president. The delegation will place Its wishes before the secretary of agriculture tomorrow and endeavor endeav-or to have him tako up the matter with the president. |
