Show SKINESE GAMBLERS PAY MONEY 10 TREASURY Sergeants O. H. Mohlman and J. F Kellihor raided a Chinese gambling gam-bling house, at 2469 Grant avenue, last night, arresting the proprietor. Sing Lee, and ten gamblers, "Wing Hlng, D Yendo, H. Yento, H. Kanglu, Wis Is-inn, S. Seato, Y Hananko, Young Loe, Lee Dick and Wong Jim. Sing Lee was released on payment of $150 bail and the other on payment of $10 each. The ball was -forfeited In tho municipal court this morning. At the same session of court, F. R. Thompson was found guilty of obtain-ing obtain-ing money by fraudulent means, and sentenced to pay a fine of $200 or to serve J.80 days In jail. He passed a worthless check at tho McBrlde drug store several days ago and was arrested by Detective R, H. Chambers. According to testimony In the case, Thompson obtained a First National bank check book shortly after coming com-ing to the city and proceeded to write checks, without heeding tho fact that lie did not havo any funds in the bank. It Is thought that he passed checks at other places than the Mc-Bride Mc-Bride drug store, as 30 blank checks were missing from the book. oo |
