Show -oo CHAPLAIN OF LOWER DOUSE PRATS FOR PROHIBITION Salt lake, Feb. 18 The chaplain of the house, in his opening prayer today, prayed for prohibition. Following Follow-ing his invocation, prohibition petitions peti-tions were received from one of the wards of Ogden, from Park City and Cache Valley. Representative Oldham moved that the Wool ton prohibition bill be made a special order for next Tuesday at 2:30 p m. Chairman Warnick of the committee said public hearings were to be held Saturday and he did not think the bill could be reported back in that time. A motion then prevailed to leave the measure In the hands of thf" committee until further notice. The fish and game committee went over the provisions of the bill in the senate without reaching any decision. The taxation bill, reducing the state levy to 12 mills is a special order in the" house this afternoon. The judiciary committee reported favorably on H. B. 99, regarding procedure pro-cedure In justice courts and on H. B 106 requiring treatment of the teeth of Inmates of state public institutions. II. B. G6. the new dentaJ-board bill, was favorably reported. A majority reported unfavorably ou H. B. GO, which provides that attor neys can designate papers In which legal publications must be made. The judiciary committee Introduced six bills amending the present corporation cor-poration laws and procedure in probate pro-bate matters. The joint committee on appropriations appropria-tions agree today to appropriate $1500 each to the four families, victims of Lopez' gun. |
