Show Society KWYOR DANS A SUCCES8. Members of the Tabernacle choir and other ward choirs spent a delightful delight-ful evening at tho Second ward amusement hall last night whon tho "Kwyor Dans" was given by members of the Second ward chblr. Lester Hlnchcliff and R. E. Shorten and the choir members acted as a reception and entertainmont committee. Punch was served during the evening eve-ning and dancing thoroughly enjoyed by everyone present. The "hall was exceptionally pretty, with decorations in green and white. VALESKA SURATT GUEST OF MRS. HOWELL. Mr. and Mrs. William Howell have as their house guests Mrs. Elizabeth Asay of Shanghai, China, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mackay of New York City. Mrs. Mackay, who is known in the theatrical world as Valeska. Suratt, Su-ratt, and is appearing this week at tho Alhambra theatre, and Mrs. Howell How-ell became acquainted In New York five years ago. With her husband, who Is a prominent capitalist of the eastern metropolis sho is passing her spare hours in Ogden with the How-ells. How-ells. They were entertained, together with Mrs. Aaay, last night at the Weber We-ber club, by Mr. and Mrs. Howell, after the vaudeville performance at the Alhambra. Miss Suratt, or Mrs. Mackay, is telling her Ogden friends of a new photo play which she completed com-pleted in the Jesse L. Lasky studioa at Hollywood, California, Just prior to going on tour over the Orpheum circuiL It is in sis reels and Is known as "The Emigrant" In it, the star plays the role of a Russian peasant girl. INFORMAL DINNER. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph E. Bristol are entertaining at an Informal dinner this evening for Mr. nnd Mrs. Hugh Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Buchmll-ler, Buchmll-ler, Mr. and Mrs. David Larson, Miss Beatrice Brower, Miss Verna Tavcy. Mrs. 'Mattlo O'Donnell, Dr. II. M Rowe, Mr. William Harris and Mr Mark Murphy. The party will later attend the Country club dance. |
