Show SAYS POLYGAMY MAYPREVAIL Fitchburg, Mass , Jan. 17. Permission Permis-sion of polygamy In Europe after the close of the war is foreseen as a possibility pos-sibility by Lieutenant General Nelson A Miles He thinks that a pluraliy of wives may be necessary in order to make up for the great loss of men In battle "In some countries," asid General Miles today, "there will not remain enough men to rebuild the ruined homes. The destruction of humanity in this war is beyond an thing heretofore here-tofore dreamed of. After the thirty years' war Germany permitted a plurality plur-ality of wives, so great had been the loss of men in the country. It is not impossible that such conditions will follow this conflict, for war is de-( de-( trovlng men as never before. "The hope of the world hereafter is a federation. A federation of nation, na-tion, some say, is a vision But this is not true. The sreat nations of the world are no further apart today in communication, ideals, civilization than were the thirteen American colonies col-onies after seven years of fighting. Yet these colonies were united Into a federation that endured. "Just so it. is perfectly feasible to plan a world federation, uniting the great nations as the colonies were united in a union that shall mean ne-ouring ne-ouring peace." oo |
