Show childTorIat white house Washington, Jan 17. A son was born to the White House today to Mrs. Francis Bowes Sayre, President Wilson's second daughter. Mrs Sayre and the child were reported to be doing well. The child was born at 4:30 o'clock this afternoon, but the fact was not formally announced until o'clock, when Secretar Tumulty gave out the following statement: "Dr Grayson, the White House physician, phy-sician, states that at 4:30 o clock Mrs. Sayre gave birth to a fine boy Everything Every-thing went perfectly and both are doing do-ing well " The boy weighed seven and a hall pounds. President Wilson made no effort to conceal his joy when Informed that the child was a boy and that Mrs Sa re was well. Hi? face was wreathed wreath-ed in smiles for hours afterwards It was his first grandchild and the president has no boys of his own Mr. Sayre, who Is assistant to President Pres-ident Garfield of Williams college, was not at the White House when his son was born Dr. Grayson reached him on the telephone at Williams-town.
