Show PUBLIC LAND IN DIFFERENT STATES Washington, Sopt. 1. More than 11,200,000 acres of land were eliminated eliminat-ed fVom the public domain during1 the past fiscal year by homestead and other entries and sales to individuals, the annual report of Commissioner Tellmun of the general land office will show. There are still, however, open now or will be, 279,544,404 acres "unappropriated and unreserved, of which 170,9S7,912 acres are surveyed and the rest unsurveyed." All this is in the twenty-five public land states and in addition to this enormous area there aro approximately approximate-ly 300,000,000 acres In Alaska, which will be available to American citizens. j, Nevada is shown to have the most public land, 53,417.740 acres, of which almost thirty million acres are al-leady al-leady surveyed and Missouri with only 973 acres, reports the least public pub-lic land. Michigan has 78,630 acres subject to ontry; Kansas 75,214 acres; North Dakota. 493.0G7 acres, and South Dakota, Da-kota, 2,G80,S78 acres surveyed and 53,-7S1 53,-7S1 unsurveyed.
