Show PRESCRIBED COURSE OF STUDY IN THE OGDEi SCHOOLS With the addition of an .Industrial course, the plan of prescribed courses of study in the Ogden high school that was in vogue prior to theputting in of the elective system three years ago, was adopted last night' by the city board of education at Its regular meeting. The new course provides lor instruction in domestic science for girls and manual training for boys and this was incorporated Into the curriculum curri-culum on account of the growing need for practical work along that line. The board of education virtually decided de-cided to change back to the old system sys-tem at its meeting a week ago, when a motion by Director H. H. Henderson to have the school principals and members of the high school faculty prepare prescribed courses of study that would give a graduate the proper preparation for a collece course was passed. The order in the motion was carried out during the week and the courses presented and adopted by the board are as follows: High School Courses. Classical course First year English, Eng-lish, a and b; Latin, a and b; algebra, a and b; history, a and b. Second year English, c and d; Latin, c and d; PI. Geom., a and b; history, c and Id, or language. Third year English, c and f; Latin, e and f; algebra, c; Elect 1 unit from solid Geom., history or language. Fourth year U. S. history, his-tory, Latin, g and h; Chem. or botany civics and current history of language. Additional subjects may bo taken by approved students to tho amount of 1-2 unit per semester. Science Course. First year Eng. a and b; algebra, a and b; language or history, drawing and shop. Second year English, c and d, geom., a and b, or botany. Elect 1 unit language or history.
