Show FEAR DESTRUCTION , OF CANADIAN CROPS Grand Forks', N D., Aug. 27. Three , hundred and fifty armed Canadian guards are patrolling the International boundary along northern Minnesota and North Dakota, as the result of threat's that attempts will be made to destroy the Canadian grain crop by fire. Recently such threats came to the Canadian officials from several sources and, although they declare themselves "unconcerned," they have placed an unusually heavy guard on the border. Threats against Canadian farmers are said to have hjeen made principally principal-ly by Austrian and Hungarian laborers, labor-ers, against whom Canada has conducted con-ducted a remarkable campaign soldiers sol-diers been stationed along tho boundary boun-dary lines, but the provincial elevators throughout tlio country are said to be closply guarded. |
