Show 1 SOCIETY 11 FAREWELL PARTY. The Girls' S. S. club gave a lawn party Thursday evening at the homo of Miss Fanny VisBer, 2636 Harrison avenue, the event being a farewell party for Miss Chrissie Hollenback, who leaves Wednesday, September 1, to enter the University of Nebraska. After a most enjoyable evening spent in games and music the guests departed wishing Miss Hollenback good luck and success for the ensuing en-suing year. BRIGHAM CITY SOCIAL NOTES. The Misses Laura and Sarah Ma-thlas Ma-thlas were hostesses for the Kensington Kensing-ton club last Friday evening. The members were present and a pleasant pleas-ant time was enjoyed. Miss Mary Young, who is to be married in Salt Lake today, to Frank R. Holman, gave a trousseau tea yesterday yes-terday afternoon at their home in Perry. About forty called during the receiving hours. The Primary stake board met at the home of Mrs. N. Chris Slmonsen yesterday for their semi-monthly meeting An hour and a half was devoted to board matters, after which Mrs. Simonsen served light refreshments. refresh-ments. A pleasant event of the week was a shower given Miss Mary Young, a bride of this week, Tuesday evening at the home of Miss Ethel Rees. About thirty-five lady friends . were present and the time was spent on the lawn which was illuminated with electric lights. Music, games and refreshments featured as the evening's even-ing's pleasure. The presents consisted consist-ed of cut glass and silverware. Miss Zola Call entertained Friday evening at her home with a dancing partv in compliment to Miss Clara Stickler of Nampa, Idaho, who has been her guest for several weeks. The cool mountain atmosphere and shade at Wlllomere have been enjoyed en-joyed by many Brigham people this summer, and every day finds families camped on the green. The defight-ful defight-ful evenings, too. have been taken advantage of by Brlgham's pleasure-loving pleasure-loving young folks and picnic suppers sup-pers and lunches in the open have been, and are still, much in favor. Yesterday afternoon a large party of friends spent a most pleasant day at Wlllomere. They left for the hills during the morning anfl remained until un-til after the supper hour. In the party were Mr. and Mrs P. J. Peterson, Stella, Sylvia and Norman Nor-man Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. R. Kaiser and family. Mr. ana Mrs. J. P. Lar-sen Lar-sen Mr. and Mrs. Hans Olsen and son'. Louis, and Mrs. Oscar Olson, Mrs. William Lee and daughter, Bessie, Bes-sie, of Ogden. A most delightful canyon party was enjoyed Monday evening at Wlllomere Wll-lomere by Our Crowd. The young folks left Brigham about 7 o'clock, chaperoned by Mr. and Mrs. Peery D. Peters and Mr. ana Mrs. Sterling Madsen. A picnic supper was served on the green after which the jolly party sat around a crackling bonfire and made merry with songs and jokes until a late hour. Among the number num-ber wero Misses Berma Hansen, Hazel Ha-zel Stohl, Bessie Morrison, Stella Peterson, Pe-terson, Zola Call, Clara Stickler, of Nampa. Idaho. Peters, Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Madsen. Misses Lola and Wilma Jeppson entertained at their home in tho First ward last Tuesday night in honor of a number of their friends. The home was decorated with pink and green and some beautiful designs were worked out. Tables wero sot with place cards to which the guests repaired after spending a most pleasant pleas-ant evening at games and dancing. Those present were Lola and Wilma Jeppson, Lillio Stranqulst, Fay Ham-son, Ham-son, Dagmar Victor, Alda Noeley, Villa Knudson. Messrs. Clifford Dalby, Dal-by, Eldred Hatch, Georgo Baird. Leslie Les-lie Young, Milton Burt, Harold Jo-hansen Jo-hansen and Mr. Neal. Misses Alda Jeppson and Ruth Horsley had the serving under their charge and did It in a delightful way. ON TRIP EAST. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Johnson of 301 Thirty-first Btreet left during the week for a month's visit east. Part of the time will be spent visiting relatives rela-tives and friends In Minneapolis, Minn., and in Lincoln and Kearney, Neb. They will also visit other places pla-ces of interest in Nebraska and Minnesota. Min-nesota. MEETING WEDNESDAY. Next Wednesday, September 1, the Federated W C. T. U. will hold their regular annual election of officers at the home of Mrs. Volney C. Gunnell, 2536 Fowler avenue. Mrs. J. W. Welch of the First ward union will lead. Miss Elian Thomas has returned from California where she spent the summer at the exposition and looking up new musical methods. While in San Francisco Miss Thomas was entertained en-tertained by Miss Laura Cotton and Mrs. Snyder, two of San Francisco's leading musicians. 200 INVITED TO DANCING PARTY. About 200 members of Ogden's younger social sot will be the guests of Miss1 Myrle PingTee and Hyrum Pingreo. Jr., at the Hermitage Grove this evening, when an informal dancing danc-ing party will be given. Herrick, Miss Josephine Herrick of Ogden, Gordon Hyde, Miss Jean Hyde and Dr. Alec Preston of Salt Lako havo returned from a most delightful three weeks' auto trip. They visited In Logan, Bear Lake. Afton, Wyo.. Rexburg' Idaho, Island Park, Henry's Lake, and Idaho Falls, where they attonded the roundup The party arrived homo yesterday, declaring their trip to have been thoroughly thor-oughly enjoyable. Mrs. S, H. Winter and daughter Ruth left August 20 for Island Park. Idaho. They expect to be gone about three weeks. MARRIAGE ANNOUNCED. Announcement has been received in Ogden of the marriage of Howard C. Kegley and Miss Phebe B. Emerson at Pomona, Cal., Saturday, August 14. Mr. Kegley has friends in Ogden who wish him happiness.
